$100,000 a year for a US undergraduate education! Setting aside ROI, Trump and other factors (another article on this soon), if you are considering a US UG education, understanding the nuances of financial aid, and how to factor it into the search and application process is critical. As a parent, arming yourself with in-depth knowledge sets your child up well to have the maximum number of choices.

Many of our students who have applied to, and are studying in the US, have done so on some percentage of financial aid (up to 100%). Some were US citizens, some were not.

In this article, we break down how students—especially those applying from India—can explore financial aid options, scholarships, and strategies to make a US education more affordable.

We cover:

📗 The different types of financial aid, need and merit-based

📗 How universities evaluate financial need

📗 Guidance on how to factor the financial aid into your college search

While we have covered a lot in this article, there are gaps (for e.g., the implications of applying early vs. regular; and approaches like "reverse applications") which are not addressed here.
